Panola College has hired Grant McMillan as its new men’s head basketball coach, according to Don Clinton, vice president for student affairs. McMillan is from Northwest Florida State College, where the Raiders recently won the 2015 NJCAA National Basketball Championship, Clinton said.

“We’re excited to have Coach McMillan. He’s a very young talented coach, who has many friends across the country that really spoke very highly of him and think that he’s gonna do a great job. He started a round at TCU as an assistant and went from TCU to Howard College and then to Independence College up in Kansas and then out to Northwest Florida State College, which they won the national championship this past year in junior college. He’s gonna bring a new era of Panola basketball to Panola College. We’re really excited about the opportunity of getting him and moving forward,” Clinton said.

Right now, it’s recruiting season, so Clinton says McMillan will be hitting the ground running. Basketball season starts in November.
