A two-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon temporarily snarled traffic on the Carthage loop. According to Carthage Police Chief Jim Vanover, the accident happened around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of the loop and South Market Street.
Vanover says a 2003 Ford F-150, driven by Chelsea Barnett of Louisiana, was traveling southbound on Market Street and failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop sign. As a result, the Ford struck a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by Melissa Bridges of Arkansas.
EMS responded to the scene, although no injuries were reported. The roadway was cleared within about 30 minutes.
