Carthage High School Announces Prom Court

“Let the good times roll” is this year’s theme for the Carthage High School prom, as voted on by the senior class.

Prom will take place Saturday at Carthage High School, with organizers decorating all week to transform the common’s into a magical place. The high school will be open for the public to see the transformation Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Prom starts at 9 p.m. with dancing, with the prom court announced around 11:30 p.m.

Prom organizers hope the entire community will come out and support the prom and see the wonderful decorations. They will also be having a plant sale on Sunday starting at 8 a.m.; this is a fundraiser for the prom, and they will sell all of the live plants that they decorate with.

This year the prom court consists of 16 senior students who were nominated by the senior class. The Prom King and Queen will be chosen by all of the Carthage High school Junior and Seniors who attend prom. The King and Queen will be crowned by our Homecoming Queen Kimberlyn Bourliea.

The female prom court members are:

Paige Bogenschuts, daughter of Todd and Ann Bogenschutz. Her prom date is Callahan Baldree. She plans on attending Texas A&M University to major in human resource development.

Mattison Doffitt, daughter of Frieda Doffitt, Steve Doffitt and Matt Doffitt. Her prom date is Gunner Capps. She plans on attending the University of Mary Hardin- Baylor to play volleyball and major in nursing.

Courtney Edge, daughter of Chad Edge and Jeannie Edge. Her prom date is Bryton Bridges. She plans on attending Eastfield College to pursue a degree in education to become a kindergarten teacher.

Annie Mahaffey, daughter of Sherry and Stephen Mahaffey. Her prom date is Jake Glenn. She plans on attending Vanderbilt University for undergraduate and Trinity Dublin for a graduate degree. She plans on studying history and English; she will decide on a career path as she goes through her studies.

Neece Pellum, daughter of Ada Anderson. Her prom date is Jakeviyon Tuiel. She plans on going to college and becoming an athletic trainer.

Addison Pope, daughter of Kurt and Kayla Pope. Her prom date is Ashton Hicks. She plans on taking her basic classes at Panola College and continuing her education at Northwestern State University, majoring in dance and theatre.

Payton Travis, daughter of Jeff and Amber Travis. Her prom date is Blakley Young. She plans on attending Tulane University to receive a degree in psychology to pursue a career in criminal law.

Hannah Villanueva, daughter of Robert and Tina Villanueva, prom date of Austin Berry. She plans on attending Texas A&M University to become a nurse practitioner.

The male prom court members are:

Callahan Baldree, son of Shannon and Junior Royce and the late Cody Baldree. His prom date is Paige Bogenschutz. He plans on attending Weatherford College to play baseball, with plans to transfer to a Division 1 school to continue playing baseball and major in ag economics.

Austin Berry, son of Tyrez Berry and Tabitha Berry. His prom date is Hannah Vilanueva. He plans on attending the University of Houston to major in computer science.

Ahman Brown II, son of Ahmad Brown and Sholanda Brown. His prom date is Jordyn Morgan. He plans on attending Tarleton State University to play football and further his education in mechanical engineering.

Jose DeJulian, son of Lilia and Miguel DeJulian. His prom date is Kimberlyn Bourliea. He plans on attending TSTC and majoring in industrial management.

Mykel Gates, son of Calvin and Amber Wilcots. His prom date is Ania Centers. He plans on attending Blinn College to play football and obtain a degree in health science.

Ashton Hicks, son of Amanda Derek Hicks. His prom date is Addison Pope. He plans on attending Oklahoma State University to run track and further his education in health science and sports medicine.

Keaontay Ingram, son of Brandie Ingram. His prom date is Madison Fite. He plans on attending the University of Texas in Austin to play football and continue his education.

Jesse Wayne Pierce, son of Wayne and Laura Pierce. His prom date is Kaylee Dowdy. He plans on attending Texas A&M and earning a degree in mechanical engineering.
